In 2001, Ron Tetley and Kip Nussbaum were introduced to each other through a mutual acquaintance. They soon realized they had many of the same interests, values, and career aspirations. By 2002, their friendship quickly grew into a working relationship where they collaborated on numerous business projects, which led to an informal partnership that began in 2003. In March 2005, Ron and Kip consolidated their three offices into one, forming an insurance agency called Creative Retirement Planning, LLC.
In 2007, another company was formed to help clients leave some of their investable assets in the stock market. This company was named Creative Advisors, LLC, an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm.
Through years of working to help people with income tax reduction and general tax planning, the firm received hundreds of requests to perform personal tax preparation for clients and prospects. In 2008, a subsidiary of Creative Retirement Planning, LLC was formed and given the name Summit Tax & Insurance Services.
Mr. Tetley is a Registered Investment Advisor and licensed insurance agent with comprehensive knowledge of retirement, wealth enhancement, and estate planning issues. Ron is a well-known financial educator in Akron, Ohio. Since 1994, Ron has specialized in helping individuals avoid common, costly financial mistakes. The majority of his time is spent meeting with prospective and established clients. Ron resides in Wadsworth, Ohio, with his wife Teresa and together, they have four children.
Mr. Nussbaum is a licensed insurance agent, who entered the financial and benefits industry in 2001. Kip is experienced in tax, income, and asset protection planning. His duties include marketing, bookkeeping, business planning, and operational management. Kip is an avid sports fan and invests countless hours coaching youth basketball and soccer in his community. He resides in Orrville with his wife, Lisa, and their three children.
After attending Kent State University for four years, Lisa completed her courses at Hondros College and acquired her property & casualty and health & life insurance licenses. She has many roles at Creative Retirement Planning, LLC, but her main duties include assisting Ron with all new business and service paperwork, updating clients on the statuses of their applications, and organizing clients’ portfolios. To become better acquainted with the insurance and financial industry, Lisa worked with a local State Farm agent for about a year. She enjoys working out, learning about different cultures, and traveling in her spare time.
Callie graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2010 and received her B.A. in political science and legal studies. She plays a key role at Creative Retirement Planning and makes sure all office functions run smoothly. Before she came to work at Creative Retirement Planning, Callie did administrative work with numerous companies, including Carp Cosmetic Surgery Center, Summit County Executive’s Office, and The Success Group. In her spare time, Callie enjoys playing soccer, cooking, kayaking, and spending time with her family and friends.
WWhen people compare things to see if they match up, we often use the expression “comparing apples to apples.” The comparisons made in the financial planning world are so far from being a fair comparison, Ron likes to use the expression “comparing apples to tacos.”
